Frequently Asked Questions
Psychological testing is a structured assessment process used to evaluate cognitive, emotional, behavioral, or academic functioning. It can help clarify diagnoses like ADHD, learning disabilities, mood disorders, or anxiety. You might benefit from testing if you have been in therapy for years and feel stuck, or if you’re struggling with focus, memory, emotional regulation, academic performance, and need documentation for school or work accommodations. Restore Psychology offers comprehensive psychological evaluations in San Diego to help you gain clarity and direction.
Yes, we specialize in ADHD and learning disability evaluations for children, teens, and adults. Our assessments are designed to identify conditions such as ADHD, dyslexia, dysgraphia, and other learning challenges. We use gold-standard tools to ensure accurate diagnoses and offer personalized recommendations for school, work, or therapy support.
At Restore Psychology, the testing process begins with an intake interview to understand your concerns and goals. Testing sessions typically last 2–4 hours and may include questionnaires, cognitive tasks, and academic assessments. After scoring and interpretation, we provide a detailed report with diagnostic impressions and tailored recommendations. A feedback session is included to review results and next steps so that when you leave this session, you have a roadmap and know exactly what to do next. All testing is conducted by licensed psychologists in our San Diego office.
We understand that life can be unpredictable, so we strive to be flexible and accommodate your scheduling needs. If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, please notify us at least 24 hours in advance to avoid being charged for the session. Please keep in mind that if you do not cancel 24 hours before the appointment, you will be billed the full fee of the session without insurance as we cannot charge insurance for a late cancellation. This policy helps therapists manage their schedules effectively and ensures that appointment slots can be offered to other clients in need of therapy.
We are in-network with Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross and United Healthcare for assessments and we can provide superbills for PPO insurance reimbursement for other insurances.
