Private Psychological Evaluations in Coronado, CA

Life in Coronado offers a unique blend of coastal tranquility and tight-knit community living. But even in such a beautiful place, personal and family challenges can arise. At Restore Psychology, we provide psychological assessments to help Coronado residents gain clarity and confidence in navigating emotional, behavioral, and learning concerns.
Whether you’re advocating for your child’s needs, exploring adult ADHD or emotional regulation issues, or simply looking for insight into what’s going on, we’re here to support you with expertise and compassion.
What a Psychological Assessment Can Uncover
Psychological evaluations help identify what’s beneath the surface. Whether someone is experiencing difficulty in school, struggling with mood swings, or feeling stuck in unproductive patterns, assessments give shape to what’s going on — and offer a way forward.
We blend clinical interviews, testing tools, and your personal history to create a full, accurate picture. From there, we provide recommendations tailored to your context — not just textbook answers.
Common Areas We Evaluate
Our assessments are comprehensive, thoughtful, and personalized. We frequently assess for:
ADHD and executive functioning challenges
Learning difficulties that interfere with academic success
Emotional or behavioral concerns like anxiety or emotional reactivity
Clarifying complex or overlapping symptoms
Incorporating personal values or spirituality when requested
We work with both children and adults, and adjust the process to suit your individual goals and stage of life.
Who Can Benefit from Testing
We welcome clients from all over Coronado — families, students, professionals — who are seeking:
A better understanding of a child’s classroom behavior or academic struggles
Support for teens managing pressure, emotional regulation, or social difficulty
Insight for college students who feel overwhelmed but unsure why
Clarification for adults wondering about undiagnosed ADHD or stress-related issues
Advocacy tools for navigating school or treatment systems with confidence
All services begin with a free 15-minute consultation to learn more about your concerns and assess whether we’re a good fit.

How the Process Works
We’ve designed a clear, five-step process to reduce stress and maximize understanding:
Initial Phone Consultation – A free 15-minute call to review your needs
Testing Appointments – Conducted in a relaxed setting, paced for comfort
Interpretation Phase – Thoughtful review of test data and background info
Feedback Meeting – A detailed walk-through of results and recommendations
Written Report – Clear, actionable insights delivered in a document you can use
You’ll also receive guidance on what to do next — from school accommodations to therapy options or referrals for psychiatric consultation (we do not prescribe medication ourselves).
Payment and Reimbursement Options
We are contracted with Aetna, United Healthcare and Anthem Blue Cross for psychological evaluations and ADHD testing. We do not accept direct insurance billing, but we do supply superbills, which many Coronado clients use to obtain out-of-network reimbursement.
If needed, we’re happy to explore payment plans or other flexible options during your consultation.

FAQs
What age groups do you work with?
We work with clients ages 5 through adulthood. The process is always adapted to be developmentally appropriate.
Can an assessment help my child get school support?
Yes. Our reports are written to be used in advocacy, whether for IEPs, 504 Plans, or private school accommodations.
Will I receive a diagnosis?
If it’s clinically appropriate, yes. We’ll explain any diagnosis clearly and offer guidance on how to use it for treatment or planning.
What if I’m unsure whether we need testing yet?
That’s what the free consultation is for — we’ll help you decide whether it’s the right next step or if something else would be better first.
Can you help with next steps after testing?
Absolutely. We offer recommendations and can connect you to therapists, tutors, or psychiatric providers if that’s part of your care plan.
